eGet, a Windows application offered by Bainsoft, is a media file downloader. This means that it will analyze and then download media files from the websites you indicate. The application can download image files (JPG, BMP, PNG), audio files (MP3, WMA, WAV, MIDI, OGG, and more), video files (AVI, MPEG, MPG, SWF), and more.

To get started with eGet, you will first have to download a 5.4MB archive onto your machine. Extract the contents inside the archive, run the setup executable, and you will be presented with a setup wizard that will guide you through the installation process. You can install eGet on a PC that has at least 128MB of free disk space, 64MB of free RAM memory, and is powered by anything from Windows 98 onward.

The ribbon at the top of the interface allows you to switch between the File, Task, and Help sections. Underneath the ribbon there are three tabs: Task (allows you to set up a download task), Download list (view a list of downloaded files), and Tag (view a list of tags). To the right there’s a panel that lists all your download tasks.

Using eGet is a very simple project. You just need to set up a task and run it. This means you will have to go through the following 3-step procedure:
Step 1 – enter the start URL yourself or use the capture URL function. This tells eGet where to look for media files.
Step 2 – select the folder where the files will be downloaded and set up filters. The filters allow you to tell eGet what to download: images, videos, audio files, HTML, archives, docs, executables, or graphic files.
Step 3 – launch the download process and wait for it to complete. eGet allows you to view a list of downloaded files and easily access the folder where those files were saved.

Please note that eGet is not free and has not been updated in quite some time.

Download a variety of files from the web in a blink with the picture and media file downloader eGet.

Pros

The system requirements for running eGet are quite low. Little time will be spent on figuring out the interface. You can download images, video, audio and other types of files. There are various filters you can put in place. eGet does its job rapidly and efficiently. Create and save tasks.

Cons

Free to use for a limited amount of time, hasn’t been updated in a long time.
